Christopher Reeve Bill

CDRPA Out of HELP Committee!
Having the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act out of the Senate HELP committee this early in the 110th Congress is an unprecedented gain. The next step is a vote on the Senate floor! Senators Harkin and Kennedy have worked hard to persuade the Senate committee of this bipartisan bill's importance to soldiers coming home paralyzed, and to so many paralyzed Americans. Now we must convince the House of Representatives. To keep the momentum going, why not discuss the bill personally with your House member this month? Congress will be at home in their districts for the August recess, beginning today. You can find all you need to know about the bill here. Your legislator's contact info may be found at Congress.org, simply enter your zip code into the white box on the left.

The writings of "vgrafen" are never sugar-coated. To the faint of heart, they may seem harsh. Paralysis itself can be brutal; vgrafen's unflinching accounts of the reality of his life as a paraplegic man may inspire you to fight a little harder for a cure. Vgrafen lives large, and his blog "Hot Electric Quicksand" will remind you that paralysis involves much more than simply using a wheelchair for mobility. It negatively impacts health, livelihood and family lives. We NEED a cure for paralysis. This blog doesn't offer heartwarming homilies or pithy quotes. It is a gut-wrenching examination of what we are fighting for, and why. Check it out!

Wow - he's a tough cookie! Good for him being an active advocate for SCI research. There should be more people like him and you, Rusty Boy! Keep fighting the good fight, dear pal!

Vgrafen is a tough cookie! SCI makes you tougher than most or it kills you. Without a cure it will one day kill me - no matter how hard I fight.
